　　一、作品集提纲：

　　在大多工业设计成功案例中，可以看出作品方面的最终结果并不是申请的关键，主要是体现出你的设计构思和与市场结合的实际方案，表达出这些思路是申请的关键。

　　二、作品集内容上的要求：

　　1、作品页数的要求

　　一般来说我觉得控制在20～40页范围内比较好，之后我会贴出重点申请工业设计大学详细作品要求，可供大家参考。

　　2、作品质量的要求

　　1)质量平均

　　很多工业设计学生的基础素描图也会占大篇幅的放在作品当中，这是相当不合适的，而且应该保证每页作品质量的平均，保留可以反映你的美感和设计功底的平面设计、UI设计和摄影作品，相对拙劣的设计可以从作品集中删除。

　　2)一定不要只show渲染图(背景灰色或白色的那种)

　　必要时要把物体放进使用环境中。

　　3)图文并貌

　　必要的文字说明和构思过程解释比较重要。

　　4)每一页只突出一个重点。

　　5)注意阅读者的节奏

　　注意排列与中间过渡，建议多参考一些作品杂志。

　　3、作品涵盖范围

　　最好涵盖生活中的各个方面，比如有的学生作品集的很多篇幅都集中在灯具设计上面就不太合适，作品既概念又商业的话是最好不过了。

　　4、美国工业设计专业分布于下列三种体制的大学

　　公立、私立和自立,学生毕业后，由全国艺术、设计协会授予文学士或艺术学士学位;前期的设计教育着重于学生的艺术才能，注重学生表现基础训练，但很难拓宽到对自然和行为科学的学习研究。在美国还有十几所自立艺术学校，通常以产品设计美学为教学中心，注重设计思维的研究与分析。缺少模型研究、绘画、预想图及表现技能的教育，由于美国的商业化设计理念，所以重视艺术设计价值而培养出的学生一定会为工业所需，特别是消费品工业和销售业的需要。

　　三、美国工业设计就业方向

　　美国工业设计的学生就业机会比较多，一些专业技术高、操作能力强的毕业生很容易找到工作。工业设计专业毕业生的就业方向主要有：建筑类产品设计、汽车外形设计、室内外环境与设施设计、广告设计、平面设计、产品研发、高校讲师等。

　　一些学校也与著名的公司有合作关系，比如：艺术中心设计学院Art Center College of Design，其交通运输工具设计专业就与著名的通用汽车公司有良好的合作关系。

　　工业设计师是具体化来自产品管理师或经理人(PM/Product Management)、销售分析师、市场分析师等所归纳开出的抽象客户使用需求，提案后客观研发新产品，或是再演化更精进的产品。工作后的大方向会有Product designer, package designer, toy designer, furniture designer, exhibit designer等。目标都是设计出最能符合顾客群需求的产品，并使产品标准化，进而量产。也是创意工作者、更是把创意副诸实践的推手。并在诸多规范下，设计出最能符合顾客群需求的产品。毕业后的起薪为$25,000.00到$40,000.00

　　As part of the entrance requirements, applicants must demonstrate an understanding of design principles and visual computer skills using Adobe products. 　　Applicants for the Masters of Industrial Design program should submit a portfolio including both text (descriptions, problem statement, etc.) and images (from development sketches to finished work). Showing both the process and execution of a project, along with problem solving and research is recommended.
